Mysterious Cold Spots on the Moon: A New Class of Impact Craters

Mapping by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter revealed areas having unusually low temperatures called "cold spots"; regions associated with recently formed impact craters. The cold spots identify the recently formed impact craters.
